Mediation services

Help participants work toward their own agreement.

Mediation provides a structured discussion of the issues and possible paths forward. Mad River reviews the requested process, qualifications, participants and suitability before accepting an engagement.

When this helps

When parties want assistance discussing a property-damage dispute and exploring a voluntary agreement.

The role

Facilitate discussion neutrally, help clarify issues and explore options. The parties retain the decision about whether to settle.

What you receive

A facilitated session and, where the participants agree, a record of agreed terms in the form appropriate to the process.

Focus of the service

  • Clarify the issues and the participants’ perspectives
  • Support a constructive discussion of available options
  • Keep voluntary settlement decisions with the parties

Does the mediator decide the dispute?

No. Mediation helps the parties explore an agreement; it does not impose an appraisal award or guarantee resolution. The requested role, qualifications, territory and conflicts are reviewed before an engagement.

Start with a clear brief

To discuss an assignment, prepare the property category and location, a short description of the matter, the service requested, relevant timing, and an overview of the records available. Share confidential material only through an agreed, appropriate channel.
